Field & Industry Work

City of Santa Clara

Compliance (2025)

  • Analytical chemical testing and quality monitoring of potable and recycled water distribution system
    • Weekly sampling: pH (field), total and free chlorine (field), coliform/E. coli (sent to lab)
    • Monthly/quarterly sampling (sent to lab): turbidity, VOCs, metals, perchorates, etc.
  • EPA Lead & Copper Rule (LCR) Compliance
    • Ran residential sampling across 50 locations citywide
    • Spearheaded address sorting, resident outreach
    • Wrote multilingual instruction materials for residents
    • Managed sample collection and submission to lab for analysis
  • Automated indexing of 500+ potable and recycled water records using Python
    • Indexed by account number, address, and project title
    • Build time: a few days to develop, spread over a couple weeks
    • Reduced manual lookup/naming from several weeks of intermittent work to approximately 1 minute
  • Designed progress tracking systems in Microsoft Excel consolidating 10 years of engineering plan review data
    • Improved visibility across recycled water, fats/oils/grease (FOG) permitting projects
    • Tracked plan review status, project type, and project location
  • Compiled water quality data analysis, including historical records back into the 2000s
    • Cr(VI), ClO4⁻, As
    • Analyzed trends in water quality and regulatory compliance

City of Santa Clara

Engineering (2024–25)

  • Designed metering plans in Bluebeam Revu for new developments and corrected billing for established developments
    • Billing amounts based on water meter readings and building capacity/purpose (single- vs. multi-family, residential vs. commercial)
    • Identified misclassified buildings (e.g., multi-family or mixed-use as single-family residential) as sources of lost revenue
  • Compiled maps of water lines in AutoCAD as reference for pending construction projects
  • Inspected emergency water repair and street repair sites for retroactive permitting

PI (Physik Instrumente)

Mechatronics (2023)

  • Developed program for automated alignment of free-space optical audio signals using a Hexapod (6 DoF) positioning system
    • Proof of concept for photonics alignment using consumer light signal (TOSLINK)
    • Programmed macros for search algorithm in PI MikroMove
  • Created solid models and 3D-printed mounting fixtures for precision motion stage applications
  • Programmed a microcontroller (Arduino) and designed a Tkinter GUI for sequence control
